Release

The pain he feels is so great, so strong,
Most people would have gave up before now
The cold metal against his flesh
Taking a deep breath, he pulls

The blood slowly drops from his arms
His emotions silent, his mind clears
He raises his arm to his mouth
Lightly licking the blood, tasting the life giving liquid

He opens his mouth as far as it will go
Covering the wouldn’t, he softly sucks the blood from his body
As the blood stops flowing, he pulls his arm away
Feeling relief from his pain

Another scar, to join the rest
A mark of his pain, in his life
Another reminder of how he feels
Another release from his pain
